A Drunken man breaks into Alaskan library – He really wanted to Soak up Knowledge

There are crazy stories everyday in the news and this one made me laugh, so I thought I’d share…

This past Tuesday night an intoxicated man decided he must read some books, so he broke into an Alaskan library.  The Fairbanks police were called to the library to handle the intruder.  Apparently, the man had smashed out the glass at the front entrance to gain access to the library. The library director told the newspaper the drunken man “really wanted to read” and didn’t realize the library was closed for the night.

The library cleaning crew told him the library was closed and the man walked out another door.  The crew said he was quite inebriated and didn’t know what he was doing.  The director of the library said nothing was taken and the only damage was the front door.

By the time police arrived the man had already disappeared – presumably he used Harry Potter’s “cloak of invisibility” to avoid detection.

I must say that I never heard a story like this one and I hope the man gets some help.  Maybe he could read a book on alcohol abuse?

It does bring up a good point – READING – I love to read and have made it a point to encourage my kids to read all types of books and not just for school.  A good book can take you to faraway places and fuel your imagination or give you valuable information; whether you are a kid or an adult.  So read!!! Join a book club and share your experience of the book with others that read the same book and learn how others react to the same story… just don’t break into someplace to do it.
